Beastie Boys Vs. Girl Skateboards

It is no secret the Beastie Boys are linked to Girl Skateboards. How you might ask? Well back in the early 90′s when Girl Skateboards formed the original heads were Rick Howard, Mike Carroll and Spike Jonze. Spike Jonze as you may know him today is a major film director who has directed a three great movies including Being John Malkovich,Where the Wild Things Are and Adaptation. But early on in his career he was a bmxer and filmed skate videos,(Blind Video Days,Yeah Right) which he still does today. Jonze had the pleasure of working with the Beastie Boys early on in his career. He is probably best known for the Sabotage video. Spike has also worked with many other talented artists like Notorious B.I.G., Fat Boy Slim, Bjork and Arcade Fire. So lets get back to the product at hand. thebestofskateboarding is selling an autographed Girl Skateboard featuring the Beastie Boys it has been autographed by Rick Howard, Mike Carroll and Guy Mariano. It would be even more awesome if the Beastie’s signed it too but oh well. The deck features scenes from the Sabotage video. I have got to say this is an awesome piece to own. Should make a wall piece.
